Mid Side Recording Studio (“Mid Side Recording Studio,” “Mid//Side,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect through midsiderecording.com (the “Website”), how we use that information, how it may be shared with service providers, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to information collected through the Website and through communications or services initiated through the Website. It does not necessarily apply to third-party websites or services that you may access through links on the Website.

1. Information We Collect

When you contact Mid Side Recording Studio, request information, or submit an inquiry through the Website, we may collect information such as:

You are not required to provide information that is not necessary for us to respond to your inquiry or provide a requested service. However, if you do not provide certain information, we may be unable to respond or provide the requested service.

Client and Project Information

When you engage Mid Side Recording Studio for services, we may collect and maintain information necessary to perform and administer the project. This may include project names, artist or client names, production information, technical specifications, project correspondence, and information contained in files provided to us.

Client-provided audio, video, documents, artwork, and other project materials may contain personal information or information relating to other individuals. We use such materials only as reasonably necessary to perform the requested services and manage the applicable project.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by the Website, its hosting infrastructure, analytics services, or other technologies used to operate the site.

This information may include information such as:

  • Browser and device type
  • Operating system
  • Referring website
  • Pages visited
  • Date and time of visits
  • General geographic information
  • Website usage and interaction information
  • IP address or other technical information used by website infrastructure or analytics services

This information is generally used to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website and to understand how visitors use it.

3. Cookies and Analytics

The Website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functionality, analytics, and other purposes.

Mid Side Recording Studio currently uses Google Analytics to understand website traffic and usage. Google Analytics may collect information such as users, session statistics, approximate geographic information, and browser and device information. Google describes its current GA4 implementation as using IP addresses at collection time to determine geographic information and then discarding those IP addresses before they are logged in Analytics.

Analytics information is used to understand website performance and visitor behavior and to improve the Website and its services.

Google Analytics is operated by Google and is subject to Google’s own privacy practices and terms.

You may control or restrict cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website functionality.

4. How We Use Information

Mid Side Recording Studio may use information collected through the Website or through client communications to:

  • Respond to inquiries and requests
  • Communicate with prospective and current clients
  • Provide, administer, and deliver services
  • Manage client projects
  • Process and deliver project files
  • Maintain records relating to projects and business transactions
  • Maintain and improve the Website
  • Analyze website usage and performance
  • Protect the Website, services, and users from misuse or unauthorized activity
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations
  • Perform other purposes reasonably related to the purposes described above

We do not use contact information collected through the Website for unrelated marketing purposes unless we have an appropriate basis to do so.

5. Client File Storage and Delivery

Audio files, project files, documents, and other materials may be stored electronically during the course of providing services.

Depending on the project and service involved, Mid Side Recording Studio may use third-party storage, productivity, communication, hosting, or file-delivery services to store, process, manage, or deliver client materials.

Client deliverables may be provided through password-protected webpages, direct-download links, or other access-controlled delivery methods.

Access credentials and other authentication information associated with private delivery pages are intended to restrict access to the applicable project materials. Clients are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of passwords or access links provided to them.

Secure Access Links

For certain private client delivery pages, Mid Side Recording Studio may generate unique access links containing randomly generated authentication tokens. These tokens allow a client to access the applicable delivery page without manually entering the page password each time.

Access tokens are associated with the applicable delivery page and are used solely to facilitate authenticated access to the associated project materials. Tokens may be revoked, replaced, or otherwise disabled when necessary.

Because possession of a valid access link may provide access to private project materials, clients should treat these links as confidential and should not intentionally share them with unauthorized individuals.

A password may also be provided as an alternative means of accessing a protected delivery page where applicable.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

Mid Side Recording Studio may use third-party service providers to operate the Website, communicate with clients, store or deliver project materials, process payments, provide analytics, or perform other business functions.

Depending on the services used for a particular project, these providers may include services such as:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers
  • WordPress and related website services
  • Google Workspace and Google Drive
  • Google Analytics
  • Email and communication providers
  • Payment processors
  • File-transfer or delivery services

These third parties may process information as necessary to provide their services. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

7. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business, provide requested services, communicate with you, store or deliver project materials, process payments, maintain the Website, or perform other legitimate business functions.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law or legal process
  • Respond to lawful requests from governmental authorities
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Mid Side Recording Studio, its clients, or others
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, security issues, or other unlawful activity
  • Protect or enforce our legal rights

We may disclose information in connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, where permitted by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide services, maintain appropriate business and financial records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain project records, or comply with legal obligations.

Project files may be retained for operational, archival, or backup purposes. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, clients should maintain their own copies and backups of all delivered materials.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the circumstances in which it was collected.

9. Security

Mid Side Recording Studio takes reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

However, no website, electronic storage system, transmission method, or internet connection can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by us or by third-party service providers.

You may contact Mid Side Recording Studio to:

  • Ask what personal information we maintain about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of information where applicable
  • Ask questions about how your information is used
  • Request information about how your information is shared with service providers

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Certain requests may be subject to applicable legal limitations or exceptions.

11. California Privacy Information

Mid Side Recording Studio is a California-based business. California law provides certain privacy rights to consumers, and additional rights may apply depending on the nature and circumstances of a business’s processing activities.

Where applicable, California consumers may have rights concerning access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about the use and disclosure of their personal information.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies to businesses meeting specific statutory criteria. Mid Side Recording Studio does not represent that every provision of the CCPA necessarily applies to the business solely because it operates in California.

Nothing in this section limits any rights that you may have under applicable California law.

12. Do Not Track

Some web browsers provide a “Do Not Track” or similar signal that allows users to express a preference regarding online tracking.

Because there is not a universally accepted technical standard for responding to these signals, the Website may not respond to every browser-based Do Not Track signal in the same manner.

Where applicable, privacy or cookie controls provided by the Website or third-party services may provide additional choices regarding analytics or tracking technologies.

13. External Links

The Website may contain links to websites, services, or resources operated by third parties.

Mid Side Recording Studio is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of third-party websites. When you follow an external link, the privacy policy of the third party may apply instead.

14. Children’s Privacy

The Website is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and Mid Side Recording Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Website.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the Website, please contact us so that we can review and address the situation appropriately.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Mid Side Recording Studio may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, business practices, or applicable law.
